Stephanie and One Year Old Brennan

What a fun shoot!  You might remember Brennan and Stephanie from the newborn shoot we did last year.  Those photos are on my website.  Here is one of my favorites from that studio shoot...

Well, Brennan is now one year old!  We scheduled the photoshoot in Vermilionville on a recent Saturday afternoon.  Brennan was a champ!  He really played to the camera well.  His beautiful mother, Stephanie, really knew how to work with him as we moved around to different locations.  The shoot was exhausting for all of us, but, it was worth it!  Here they are..
(Be sure to click on each photo to see the full resolution that I uploaded.  The blog software resamples them for this page and makes then less than optimal for viewing.)

These were shot with a Nikon D700, a 35-70mm f/2.8 lens, ISO 200, f/5.6, varying shutter speeds, speedlight SB-800 with shoot-through umbrella, triggered by Pocket Wizards.  The flash was used mostly to give a little more direction to the light while using natural light as the fill.  I measured the ambient light with a light meter, then set the flash to give about one stop more light at a fixed distance.   The umbrella was mounted on a Redwing Lightstand which has tripod legs which pop open when you set it down.
